047 "Marzoner Alm" hut and Fontana Trail

Course: With the bike shuttle to Montefranco – uphill Marzoner Alm – Bike Highline Merano – Fontana trail

We take the bike shuttle service to the small mountain village Montefranco. Where we start riding towards the "Marzoner Alm" hut, one of the lowest huts of southtyrol. Alternatively we can also ride the steep road `from` Castelbello to the "Marzoner Alm" hut on our own (1070m elevetion gain).From the "Marzoner Alm" we take the Bike Highline Merano and follow the trails to reach the start of the "Lupotrail" (Nr. 4). On the "Lupotrail" we cross the forest road two times and the first time we get to an asphalted street we leave the trail to proceed on the asphalted street until the next hairpin bend, `where` we take the trail nr.9 (Fontanatrail), which brings us to the farm "Niedermair". By following the technically demanding "Fontanatrail", with a lot of rocky and blocked but also flowy sections, we reach the bottom of the valley at Ciardes, `where` we take the cycle path to return to Naturno.
